Painting & Finishing

To support and compliment the manufacturing process, Mitras have a separate painting and finishing facility.

Meticulous attention is paid to the preparation
of parts before a wet paint spray or powder coated
finish is applied to a number of different substrates
including both metal and plastic parts of all sizes and shapes.

Final inspection before packing ensures that the
very best quality parts are supplied by the Moorland group.

Mitras also offer a spray-moulding process. This process is the spray coating of a glassfibre resin mixture onto a mould to produce a strong, rigid product. Used typically for low volume products, tooling costs for this method of producing a GRP part are low but the process is less time efficient than the compression moulding offered by Mitras Composites.

Mitras produce a number of injection moulding parts required by the group. Using two modern injection moulding machines, small plastic parts are manufactured for the Mitras meter boxes and meter box keys are sold to a range of customers. We are able to personalise our keys with your company name or logo if large volumes were required. We would be happy to discuss this with you.
